What is a cloud kitchen?

A cloud kitchen–also known as ghost, host, virtual and dark kitchens–refers to a physical site of commercial kitchens that is optimised for food preparation and delivery. Put simply, it’s a restaurant kitchen without the dine-in service.

What are the benefits of operating from a cloud kitchen?

The cloud kitchen industry is booming internationally alongside the rise in demand for delivery services. Particularly with the impacts of the pandemic, there’s been a shift toward at-home dining as well as increased pressure on the hospitality industry to innovate and cater to customers in more cost-efficient ways. Just some of the benefits of operating from a cloud kitchen include:

  • Fewer-start up costs and lower overheads

  • Preserve your dine-in experience with a delivery-only kitchen

  • Test local demand before investing in bricks and mortar

  • Expand your business footprint into new areas

  • A kitchen optimised for delivery-only service

  • No front-of-house labour costs

& more!
